About Lynwood Forrest DGC
Lynwood Forrest Disc Golf Course started as a simple set of holes in the woods, created for me and a few friends to enjoy. As my love for disc golf deepened, so did my vision for the property. What began as a casual spot to throw and have fun grew into a dedicated course designed to challenge players and foster growth—whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out.
To make up for limited elevation changes, I aimed to craft a full 18-hole course that blends the best aspects of technical open shots, longer wooded technicalities, and the excitement of big throws and potential ace runs. Throughout the design, I incorporated elements inspired by some of my favorite courses—such as Hornets’ Nest, Paw Paw, The Blockhouse, and The International Disc Golf Center. Several holes are uniquely my own vision and design.
The course intentionally avoids allowing players to settle into a comfortable rhythm, encouraging versatility, strategy, and focus on every hole. One of my greatest compliments is hearing players say, “I had to use every disc in my bag.” A highlight is the unique double water carry finishing hole that tests both accuracy and nerve.
Lynwood Forrest DGC also pays homage to my loved ones and our military heroes. Lynwood Butler and Forrest Smith were Marines whose service and sacrifice we honor through this course.
I designed this course to create a memorable disc golf experience in the beautiful natural surroundings of Virginia's Eastern Shore. We look forward to seeing you out on the course!
